Abstract
Gokul Giri of Budhiganga Municipality- 6, Bajura received commercial farming training from the BICAS project and started growing chilly, eggplant, zucchini, cucumber, tomato and peas. This year he hopes to make around NRs 200,000 (1540 GBP) profits in total. BICAS (Building Inclusive and Sustainable Growth Capacity of CSOs (civil society organisations) in Agriculture and Forest Sectors) project works with women, men and children living in the remote mid and far-western districts of Kalikot, Mugu, Jumla, Bajura and Bajhang. The project is supported by the European Union and focuses on building the capacity of 45 local organisations to promote inclusive and sustainable growth and increase the income of 7,000 households from agriculture and forest-based enterprises.
