Module1 sets out some key ideas and concepts about gender, and argues that a clear understanding of gender and the way it is reflected in social and economic roles is essential for effective rural energy planning. This module argues that gender sensitive energy planning is required to realise the project goals set and to meet the needs of the people identified as the intended beneficiaries of an intervention.
