Abstract
The photograph was taken during a march organised for the International Disaster Reduction Day in October 2008. The event took place in the El Carmen District of the Chincha province in the Department of Ica, Peru, with the participation of nearly 300 children from Educational Institution 2250 El Carmen. During the march around the district, the children carried placards (which they had made themselves) defending their rights in disaster situations. The school teachers also participated in the march. Photo contest entrant 2009.
