Abstract

This publication shares first-hand testimonies and analysis on how Indigenous women in the Andes Amazon are strengthening leadership, shaping organisations and defending their territories across Peru and Ecuador. It sets the context of persistent inequalities and barriers to education, health, income and participation, then profiles women and women’s programmes within AIDESEP, GTAA, ORPIAN-P, CORPI-SL, CONFENIAE, FEPNASH-ZCH, NAE, NASHE and PSHA. Framed within the Biodiverse Landscapes Fund Andes Amazon project, the report captures practical pathways being pursued, from parity reforms and women’s congresses to livelihoods and cultural revitalisation, and calls for wider support from state, cooperation agencies and representative institutions to scale what works.
