Abstract
The safe management of sludge is not only a problem for Faridpur town rather considered as second-generation challenge in sanitation sector. To address this problem, Faridpur Municipality envisioned for “a sustainable and safe city-wide faecal sludge management system for serving all the residences and institutions within the municipality by 2025” and implementing a city-wide Faecal Sludge Management (FSM) Programme since 2014 with the financial support of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and UK-Aid and technical facilitation by Practical Action.
