Abstract

The main goal of the project is to reduce the major health risks to women and children from kitchen smoke. The specific objective is to improve knowledge on, access to and wider up-scaling of appropriate indoor pollution reduction technologies (focusing on improved stoves and smoke hoods) by poor households in the high hills of Nepal. Output 1:Create awareness on adverse health impact of indoor air pollution (6000 people) Output 2: Ensure supply of high quality smoke hoods and after sales services (at least 1000 SH installed) Output 3: Develop innovative financing mechanisms (revolving fund, partnership with cooperative, income generating activities) Output 4: Disseminate project learning and knowledge Output 5: Involved wider community on smoke alleviation interventions and scaling-up (district network, 40 local groups formation)
