Abstract
Zahra Ali Jonky – Member of Sawa Sawa women’s sub committee and Women’s Umbrella Group at War Nour Womans Development Association. Sawa Sawa means one by one we have to share – women and men at the same time. Now the WDA has started to build up a capital regeneration activity – small loans to help women. In 2005 the Wau Nur Community for Development was established this branched into WDA and Sawa Sawa. "I embroider linens, it adds to my sense of house price. I will embroider linens if people ask for £25 (Sudanese) per blanket. I enjoy it. It can take up to one month to embroider a blanket. I feel happy with the WDA. It’s made a big help in our lives, women have been trained."
