Abstract
Tek Bahadur Thapa of Triveni Municipality- 8, Bajura built a multi-use water system with support from BICAS project. He was recently awarded the best farmer of the region. Thapa has been an influential figure in making his community a vegetable production pocket area. BICAS (Building Inclusive and Sustainable Growth Capacity of CSOs (civil society organisations) in Agriculture and Forest Sectors) project works with women, men and children living in the remote mid and far-western districts of Kalikot, Mugu, Jumla, Bajura and Bajhang. The project is supported by the European Union and focuses on building the capacity of 45 local organisations to promote inclusive and sustainable growth and increase the income of 7,000 households from agriculture and forest-based enterprises.
