Abstract
In Badariya village of Joshipur, the project supported, along with the VDC, a group of 12 landless former Kamaiyas to lease out around 24 kaththas of land for vegetable cultivation. They were also trained on improved methods of vegetable production, nursery establishment, insect-pest control, harvesting, processing and marketing. After the training this woman starting growing vegetables on leased land. Since her involvement in the project in 2006 and until now, she has already taken seven harvests, each harvest providing her an additional income. Photo contest entrant 2009.
