Abstract

The Golondrinas I project was implemented in 2006, as a result of which an agro-industrial company was incorporated in the Ccaycco peasant community. Early in 2008 this company had the infrastructure and machinery to produce flour and it was also expected to boost the development of agro-industrial activities in the Canchis province and link small farmers to transformation processes that would improve their income. The Golondrinas II project implemented early in 2008 was aimed at supplying raw materials for the grains and cereals processing plant (owned by the Ccaycco community), encouraging small farmers to supply better quality grains in larger quantities, for their own benefit. To that end, a proposal was designed to strengthen the productive processes of small farmers in the different communities near the Ccaycco community firm. The project began its activities in February 2008 and ended in January 2011. Its main objective was to increase the income of peasant families in the Canchis province whose low production and productivity rates prevented them from establishing market links.
