Abstract

The biodyke along the banks of Budhi Kulo, the main canal irrigating lands in Rajapur, has been constructed after the success of similar structure at Bangalipur on the banks of Aurahi River. Just constructed this year, it has been crucial in preventing the soil erosion and water entering the settlement at Mukta Kamaiya Tole, a village of freed bonded labourers. Thanks to the contribution from local community and support from Practical Action's Nepal Flood Resilience Project, they're safer now.
