Abstract
The aim of this project is to improve Donkey healthcare by improving the capacity of Community Based Animal Health Workers (CBAHW) in handling Donkeys by: holding training workshops to train CBAHW on basic Donkey health service delivery, host a local Donkey Day to raise communities’ awareness on the need to improve Donkeys health through vaccination, treatment of diseases including wounds. Produce and publish a Donkey CBAHW manual. To optimise Donkey carriage and tillage technology by improving carriage carts, loading practices and tillage equipments. Practical Action's vet, Dr. James Dokhe (right), provides support to as CBAHW in diagnosis of an ailing donkey in Garboquoeley in Mandera, Kenya.
