Abstract
Business models in the power sector takes many forms. In the private sector, the prime focus is profit making while in the public sector the focus is on service delivery. SE4RC is a community development project granted by public funds from the European Union. While it is accepted that where users are able to pay for the services, the private sector appraoch to energy provision works better in ensuring quality and sustainability of service. The dilemma faced with community power provision is that it often does not the "traditional" private sector.
