Abstract

Hari Bahadur Bisural works 8-10 hour shifts depending on vegetable seasons. His job is to load and unload the produces that the gravity ropeway helps transfer from Janagaon to Bishaltar. The Ropeway was installed in 2006 and since then has helped villagers sell their goods and increase their livelihood. The Ropeway has also decreased their drudgery significantly. Hari is happy with his job as he earns anywhere from NRs 10,000 to NRs 25,000 depending on the number of loads the Ropeway carries. As a Ropeway operator since 2006 he has bought two buffaloes has fixed his house and is content with his job. Photo contest entrant 2009.
