Abstract
Anonta Roy was trained by Practical Action in vegetable production and seed replication under the Food Production Programme. He is proud of the social status that his knowledge gives him in his village, Sachia in the Faridpur District. He gives his advice and seeds freely to people, rather than charging people. "If I want to live here I should do good for the community", he says. Horticulture is his only source of income, but this has doubled as a result of growing better vegetables which get a good price in the market. Photo contest entrant 2009.
