Abstract

The project seeks to improve 8 institutions in Cotabambas and Grau, Apurímac, through provision of water, sanitation and ICT services to create better conditions for learning. The project seeks to demonstrate a "total energy approach" in rural schools that currently lack basic services. This is a joint initiative with the Ministry of Education, the regional government of Apurimac, local governments, and Lutheran World Relief to consolidate a partnership to finance and implement clean technologies and connectivity in the educational facilities of rural communities. The project will provide photovoltaic energy, thermal energy, ecological bathrooms with water flow, potable water systems, solid waste management, ICT equipment and connectivity. The project will benefit 433 people, including teachers, principals, students, and parents Local education authorities will be responsible for the maintenance of equipment, using resources from the central government. Activities include Technology installation (equipment related to energy, water, sanitation, connectivity and ICT) Training and teaching support Awareness training for the educational community Training managers of educational institutions on the management of technology resources
