Reconstruction

Post disaster reconstruction flows on from emergency relief work. Its aim is to reconstruct people’s lives on a more permanent basis and includes the rebuilding of infrastructure and people’s livelihoods. Approaches to reconstruction can vary from country to country and depending on who is managing the process. Practical Action promotes People-Centred Reconstruction (PCR) which puts people at the forefront of planning from the start.
